The cost of our services depends on the type of project, the extent of the damage, the desired end results, the materials needed - and so much more. Each project is unique. This is why we are not able to provide a fixed price list.
We do provide free estimates for all of our services. The estimate process generally begins with you sending us photos of your project along with a description of what you're looking to have done. We will then follow-up by scheduling an appointment with you to evaluate your potential project in-person. (Please note: We cannot provide an estimate based on photos alone. If extreme distance is involved, an exception may be made but this is rare.)
After the project has been evaluated in-person and we understand your desired outcome, we formulate an estimate of the final cost and send that to you in writing.
Once you receive the estimate, we ask that you please acknowledge that you have received it even if you do not want to proceed with scheduling a project at that time. Affording us this courtesy allows us to continue offering free estimates to our clients now and in the future.
We specialize in wood and antique indoor furniture repair, refinishing and restoration. In addition to refinishing and restoration, we also offer painting services for both furniture and built-in cabinetry in your home. Outdoor furniture repair and restoration will be considered on a case by case basis.
In general, we are booked 6-8 weeks out for larger projects. Most projects take a minimum of 3 weeks from start to finish. If you have a specific timeline for a project, please make us aware of this as soon as possible. Please understand that furniture - especially antique furniture - requires time, focus and adaptability. We do our best to keep you informed on the progress of a project and will reach out to you when the project is complete and ready to return to you.
Payment may be made in CASH or CHECK made payable to JKB REFINISH. Credit Cards are also accepted but they will incur a 3% service fee. We do not accept electronic payment at this time.
Most projects do not require a deposit. Unless pre-arranged and noted in writing, all payment is due in full upon the client's receipt of the furniture (or on the final day of cabinetry painting).
No. We do not offer upholstery services at this time. If you are need of upholstery services, we are happy to refer you to a reputable upholsterer in Eastern North Carolina.
